This is insane. A species of Asteraceae (Heterosperma pinnatum) changes what kind of seeds it produces according to local growing conditions. If conditions are lousy, seeds with wind-dispersal structures are produced so the next generation can get the hell out of there.

This week, we received the visit from IHARA Chemical Industry at our University farm to evaluated possible pre-emergent herbicides mixtures for weed control in soybean crops. This is the first trial of sowing soybeans at Canguiri Farm since 2010.

At August 2024, Brazil will host the XXXIII Brazilian Weed Science Congress together with XXV Latinoamerican Weed Science Congress. Later, we'll bring more information! The UFPR Weed Science lab will help in the event organization.
More than 10 years ago, UFPR University farm was established as an preservation area and herbicide studies were banished. Now, a new area was created near Faculty, with student transportation, what will help a lot our lives. Students happy with weeds is what we seek!
Yesterday we received Dubravko Maćešić for a talk to discuss projects cooperation with @UFPR (@pgapv ) and University of Zagreb. Good perspectives ahead.
We keep searching Amaranthus id and control at South Brazil, finding some really big plants. A long road for farmers ans Institutions.
