We're working with a Ugandan village to rebuild their primary school. Starting with infrastructure, we have a long-term, sustainable plan for teacher training.
Hello world! My name is Kiyimba Francis Jevas. My friends call me Francis. I was born in a poor family but was sponsored and educated. This is why I've stood up and tried to help this school and our rural community. My passion is compassion for the poor.
Sadly, we've now run out of funds. This is far from ideal, especially during rainy season. We don't want to just leave the half built classrooms uncomplete. Can you help us find an extra £2,000 to finish the job?
There are loads of way to support us: https://t.co/QAH3UmzR5O
Thanks to support from @AdaLiverpool and @weTEACH_online we've been busy working on the new classroom block and are making fantastic progress. Check out our photos 👇

We are excited to announce we are working with Francis at the @UgSchoolProject to help fundraise for the rebuilding of the primary school in his village, with further long term, sustainable plans to train teachers and allow the school to grow supported by @weTEACH_online.
We need to raise another £4,000+ to complete the renovations. After that, we are starting a programme of teacher training so that the children who attend our school get the very best education. Thanks for listening to my story 😁

Last year I worked with my British friend Char and we managed to raise enough money to build two new latrines at the school. Vital for hygiene and good health for students and teachers.
The school has been in a dangerous situation in form of buildings, furniture, payment of teachers, lack of teaching materials. That's why I call upon all people who can help with the little or much you have to put this school in good shape.
The priest of the rural Catholic Church in charge, appointed me to bring new teachers and work as head teacher. I managed the school from 2017 up to March 2020 when the COVID19 lockdown began.
I was called by the headteacher of that school by then, to join as a teacher, the school was a mess; teachers running away because the school had failed to pay them. Eventually even that headteacher left.
St.Gyaviira primary school is in Lutungu Village, Rakai District, Uganda. I started teaching in Ugandan private primary schools in 2016 in Lwengo district, then I moved to Rakai district working at a different school.
