EXHIBITIONS: Under the theme โGlobal Innovation, Local Solutions: Shaping the Future of Building & Construction in Uganda,โ #UgandaBuildcon experts are sharing ideas, experiences, and practical solutions to strengthen Ugandaโs construction industry.
Prof. Ssemwogerere noted that many existing housing discussions often overlook the lived experiences of low-income households, making it important for policymakers, architects, developers, and financial institutions to understand current housing conditions. #UgandaBuildcon
He called for improved data collection on household incomes, housing conditions, rental trends, and the needs of different population groups, saying such information would enable the sector to develop solutions that respond to the realities of Ugandans.
#UgandaBuildcon is also bringing together stakeholders for an insightful panel discussion on โBuilding a Competitive, Sustainable and Resilient Construction Sector.โ
Happening now at the UMA Show Grounds, Lugogo, UNABSEC Treasurer is representing the Association as a panelist at the Uganda BUILDCON Forum 2026, contributing to the discussion on "Building a Competitive, Sustainable and Resilient Construction Sector." The conversation is advancing practical solutions to strengthen local contractors, drive innovation, and build a more resilient construction industry in Uganda. #UgandaBuildcon #UNABSEC #Construction #Infrastructure

Speaking during Panel Session 2 on โDelivering Affordable, Green and Inclusive Housingโ at the 5th #UgandaBuildcon, Mr. Vincent Agaba, a leadership, governance, real estate and housing practitioner, said better coordination among stakeholders is key to improving housing delivery in Uganda.
He noted that while institutions such as @Makerere , the Uganda National Building Review Board, @KCCAUG, @housingfinanceU and private sector players all have important roles to play, their efforts need to be better aligned to achieve meaningful results.
#JustConcluded โ Panel 2 turned to a question that touches every household: Delivering Affordable, Green and Inclusive Housing.
A definition that stood out on stage: affordability isn't about the size or height of a house โ it's whether the unit cost of water, power, garbage collection, access, and materials actually fits an individual's purchasing power. Add efficient architectural design, and that's what makes a house truly livable, not just built.
On the panel:
๐น Mr. Vincent Byendaimira-, @KCCAUG
๐น Mr. Vincent Agaba, Founder, @avartsuganda
๐น Dr. @kennethSsemwog1 , Makerere University @MakCEDAT
๐น Ms. Lilian Nabisere, Housing Finance Bank
Moderator: Mrs. Nanywa Winnie Mubiru K, WMK Architects
Affordability, sustainability, and safety are one conversation, not three โ and it's exactly where we've placed our focus at Regal Paints:
๐จ Low-VOC paints โ healthier indoor air as standard, not a premium upgrade
๐ก๏ธ Regal Fireproof Paint & Damp Protek โ because green and inclusive housing must also be safe housing
๐ค Direct partnerships with contractors, supplying locally made, eco-friendly products that keep projects on schedule without dependence on costly imports
We believe development and environmental responsibility aren't in competition โ they have to co-exist.
To fellow industry players: we welcome more contractor collaborations built on this model.
To anyone exploring coating or protection solutions โ fire safety, damp-proofing, healthier walls โ we'd love to talk.
