@GovUganda has secured $540M from the World Bank for Phase II of the urban development program now called Uganda Cities & Municipalities Infrastructure Development (UCMID). Lands Minister @JudithNabakoob1 says the 6 year program will boost infrastructure & transform urban growth.
UCMID will cover 10 regional cities, 26 municipalities & 13 refugee-hosting districts, benefiting 5.6M people. The program is expected to create 20,000 permanent jobs, including 5,000 for refugees & host communities through markets, waste management & logistics.
At least 112 youth in Kamuli District successfully completed a week-long digital skills training under the Skilling Youth Groups in ICT and Multimedia programme, an initiative aimed at equipping youth with practical technology skills for entrepreneurship and personal development.
