Images of the proposed new infrastructural development at the Accra International Airport, where President John Dramani Mahama is expected to cut the sod for the construction of a modern multi-tiered, multi-purpose car park and airport hotel complex.

The project is expected to feature a seven-storey car park with over 2,000 parking bays, two hotels, a pedestrian connector linking directly to the terminal, a shopping mall with a food court, retail and office spaces, as well as a sky lounge and an observation deck offering views of aircraft landings and take-offs.

Well said,but nobody is against local manufacturing. That should actually be the next step.But supporting local production doesn’t mean dismissing a programme that can create income opportunities for 10,000 plus young people. We can demand transparency, proper implementation and eventually and manufacturing.

Nobody is saying GoldBod should be beyond criticism or parliamentary scrutiny. In actual fact if there are genuine concerns then I see no reason why Parliament shouldn’t investigate them.But constructive criticism also means getting the facts right and allowing the institution to respond. He can question GoldBod’s operations without turning every allegation into an established fact.Scrutiny is welcome. Misinformation is not.

Just controlling prices may not solve the problem.We need to tackle the reasons prices are high which are production costs, transportation, energy, exchange rates and supply.The better approach to this is to strengthen local production and competition while protecting consumers from unfair pricing. Ghanaians need relief, but we also need solutions that can last. The cost of living is a real concern and it’s sad it’s not getting the attention it deserves.We must do better
