Your point is thoughtful, but it overlooks some important realities that make the comparison incomplete. It’s not that Nigerians lack national pride; rather, the environment that shapes public reactions is very different. Angola’s decision may spark debate, but many Angolans still trust that their government can execute big projects or recover from controversial spending decisions. In Nigeria, however, public frustration often comes from years of unfulfilled promises, economic hardship, and repeated misuse of funds.
When people feel unheard and burdened, their reactions naturally become more emotional and confrontational. It’s not a lack of patriotism, it’s the result of a history that has conditioned citizens to defend themselves loudly because quiet complaints rarely lead to change.
Also, using one social media observation to generalize an entire nation’s behavior can be misleading. Every country has its own triggers, political culture, and level of confidence in leadership. What looks like “composure” in Angola may not translate the same way in a country where citizens constantly feel the impact of questionable policies.
Yes, Nigerians can express disagreements more constructively, but the real solution is building a system that earns citizens’ confidence. National pride grows stronger when leadership inspires trust, not when people are expected to stay quiet in the face of long-term challenges.
To every corrupt and wicked politician in Nigeria ENKR
@realFFK People are being killed in ur front Benue and ur president said he can't go there do to bad road and rain and u couldn't say a word about that but ur problem is J Trump, Israel and Iran. Hypocrite everywhere 🙄
@renoomokri You will still be the one to attack PO and call him Ipob member if he speaks, now he is silence and still u don't want him to be. Obi is actually giving u heartache . Saboteur
@renoomokri Show us the video evidence or write up where u said Fubara threatened anybody or any agency after the supreme Court judgement and win 1m NGN from me . You will die a hypocrite i swear 🤬
Thousands of students in universities all over the Southeast are in school because of President Tinubu's Student Loan Program, and Peter Obi, who did not build even one nursery, primary, or secondary school and university while he was Anambra Governor for eight years, has said absolutely nothing about this good news. But if one piece of bad news about Nigeria starts circulating, you can trust Peter Obi to rush and post it, regardless of whether it is true or false.
Maybe he would have preferred if those youths stayed at home drinking his Hero beer!
Come on, people, am I lying?
#TableShaker
@renoomokri Can you for once tell us what ur own state governor has achieved in office and not every time Laos govt this Lagos that. Abi u now come from Lagos Mr Reno?
