A heartwarming video of a newborn Irrawaddy dolphin, estimated to be about 3–4 days old, was captured by a team from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries while it was happily swimming with a larger group of dolphins at Kampi Pool in Kratie Province.
This is the 6th Irrawaddy dolphin calf recorded since the beginning of 2026, bringing the total number of Mekong River Irrawaddy dolphins in Cambodia to 118. It is very encouraging news for our conservation efforts.
The Ministry continues to call on the public: if you encounter newborn Irrawaddy dolphins, please help protect them and report information to fisheries authorities to ensure that these young dolphins can grow up safely.
