Around 8 months ago my wife and daughter were shopping in a large retail shopping center. My wife needed to change our daughter's diaper, so she navigated to the women's restroom, in which she encountered someone she described to me as "a man wearing a dress, lipstick, and a wig". My wife stood there uncomfortably at the sink while waiting for this person to leave the restroom, but after a minute or two of this person lingering in the restroom alongside her, my wife ended up leaving the restroom without changing our daughter's diaper because she felt uncomfortable.
She then raised her concern to an employee at the shopping center, to which they responded "yes, that individual has been in the restroom for several hours and we've had multiple complaints, but we've been directed to not remove them."
My very real concern is that women are losing safety and peace of mind in places where they are otherwise very vulnerable and exposed.
