@twiterless_KP There is stuff falling from the sky,
Kentuckians forget how to drive.
They swerve and they crawl,
It makes me want to brawl,
When it percititates different forms of hail,
I swear someone is gonna hit the gaurd rail.
This year @discnw@MinnesotaUlt@mufadisc@budainfo and @pghultimate are working to offer an amazing tournament for youth players, reducing barriers to participation, provide an inclusive tournament experience, and expand opportunities for youth club play https://t.co/ZpiKrhaaPP
@khalifygreens Playing as in throwing and catching the disc. Playing as in chasing someone around the field to take the dis from them so I can throw and catch some more.
3) There is a bit of enjoyment in the camaraderie but I just moved 12 hrs away from my club team and I still enjoy playing
@khalifygreens I just am not an athlete.
Now to your questions:
1) thousands a year? Yeah that is one advantage. Lower level teams are cheaper (~$300 club dues for hotels and bid fees)
2) I play because I love the sport. I genuinely enjoy playing as much as possible.
@LooseyJackie@lookoutitsbbear @stuckinspincycl I have a MS in Biology and make $14.50/hr identifying aquatic insects for an environmental consulting firm. I started at $12 because they were the only place to call me back looked for about a year after graduating, worked retail at $10/hr while doing that.
@being_ulti I was diagnosed with ADHD at 2. Medicated with methylphenidates till middle school. Turns out I was misdiagnosed and I have ASD (formerly Asperger's.)
This. This. This. This.
I can't stand it when a team I'm on wants to forfeit, flip for game, play a game to some number less than original number. I'm here to play ultimate.
A bonus "this" when the lower part of the roster has played 5 points all tourney.
The “consolation games mean nothing” take is garbage to me. Teams don’t suddenly stop caring about nationals because you are not in the finals. Besides, only 2 teams will make it, why would you not care about your final placement?
