It’s free for the kids you fucking idiot. Nobody thinks the food appears out of nowhere. Most of us just don’t mind our money going to feed literal children because we aren’t loathsome little cockroaches crying about “it’s not actually free”
Someone needs to be paid to grow the food.
Someone needs to be paid to process the food.
Someone needs to be paid to cook the food.
Someone needs to be paid to package the food.
Someone needs to be paid to delivery the food.
It's not free, it's just paid for by someone else.
If you think like this you are just inherently a bad person. It’s that simple. If we can’t agree on something as simple as; kids should not go hungry. You are not a good person. Tax dollars should go towards those things.
Sure, Jared. I'll bite.
First, before we begin, let's establish that nothing is "free." Also, "Government-funded" is just another way of saying "taxpayer-funded." Now that we've cleared that up...
Can you explain why feeding children is automatically everyone else's responsibility except the parents?
Nobody is arguing that hungry children should go without food. But there's a difference between helping families who genuinely need assistance and making taxpayers responsible for feeding every child, regardless of their family's ability to pay.
And let's stop pretending these programs involve nothing beyond a free lunch. Federal child nutrition funding also supports breakfast programs, after-school snacks, summer meals, food procurement, cafeteria operations, staffing, equipment and administrative expenses.
Compassion for children shouldn't mean abandoning parental responsibility or pretending public programs have no costs.
Maybe before demanding that everyone else foot the bill, we should ask why the responsibility of feeding a child has somehow shifted from the parents to the taxpayer.
Answer that -- and we'll really get somewhere...
Either you work part time or you work close enough to walk because that’s about $5 per trip average if you’re working 20 days a month. That’s just not realistic.
The Chicago Bears fans were LOUD Thursday night after the Packers loss.
Little do they know, they will also be 1-2 after losing to the Eagles on Monday Night Football.
Full circle moment for their fans, the difference is they are used to being here, the Packers aren’t.
Why are Bears fans blitzing Packers fans tonight?
They’re bout to have the same record as us come Tuesday morning
Vikings fans I understand, but Bears fans? Yall put up 3 points 4 days ago, and bout to be 1-2
