@ashewayne1@KiloStunnas Mercedes debut got 801k/0.27. The 2 weeks before got 779/.27 and 822/.29. The 2 weeks after got 800/.27 and 747/.23. Not only is there no evidence she was a big draw for them but they quickly started going from averaging high 20 demos to low-mid 20s around that time.
@ashewayne1 Jericho and Mox were important to start. Punk brought big numbers. Since then though that Mone/Ospreay/Okada/Lashley/Edge batch of signings didn’t help business at all. They were doing better they came in than after.
@Arnav_Ve6b@ushigoroshi89 Until AJ gets a WWE logo on his body and does a dozen interviews a month glazing his company he’ll never reach the bootlicking heights of MJF.
@trevor_daniles@WONF4W Other than Ospreay, they’ve all been multiple time champs. Some as both face and heel. They’re not hot new stars. If they were going to become megastars/draws they would’ve by now. If someone does it will be someone we don’t know or expect yet. It won’t be like Kyle Fletcher.
@WONF4W This is like a concentrated grift at this point. Dynamite is doing under 3k most weeks and All In is going to be half empty at best and Dave keeps trying to say they have this huge momentum and trying to paint WWE as the one struggling (while doing over 10k average for the year).
@BenAllisonWR@WONF4W@davemeltzerWON When Dave gave that Best Friends/P&P street fight 5 stars years ago is when I knew his ratings had jumped the shark. He essentially said it was better than almost every great Austin/Angle/HBK/Foley/HHH/Cena/Taker/Jericho/Bret match.
@WrestleOps@WONF4W Look I loved the match but it being the highest rated WWE match ever shows Dave’s scale has jumped the shark. It was great but not better than every Austin/Rock/Bret/HBK/Taker/HHH/Cena/Roman/Cody/Hogan/Savage/Angle match ever.
@Fightful@FightfulSelect@SeanRossSapp How can WWE turn things around? Why would you have to turn around averaging over 10k for your regular TV. Surely the Slammiversary and All In ticket sales show those companies are more in need of your expertise in turning things around.
@CaptainRedBlade@shane1lifeO And "they" were right. If you're in your 60s and professional doctors told you years earlier to retire then it's stupid to test it. These are millionaires not some journeyman who needs the money enough to risk serious health setbacks.
@WrestleOps@WrestleVotes@FightfulSelect I thought I remember him saying he couldn't even get cleared to do one single bump from I think Randy Orton a few years ago due to concussion issues? And he couldn't even bend down to tie his shoes. What kind of doctor would clear him?
@MrGosh82@Fightful Fucking hell you’re one of those ones who call him Phil. Such a simple little thing let’s you know the exact type of fan you’re talking to.
@BBart4Prez@ryrynemnem He’s called out Punk passively aggressively online multiple times over the years. When Punk actually confronted him in person and asked if there was a problem he apparently backed down and got all nervous. Dude has Twitter fingers.
@NarlaBegins@AghehowaGoal@Gullitxtra@WrestleOps@SBJ The people who think it’s abysmal are usually loser fans who post on cagematch/Twitter all day. Most fans in real life enjoy the show then go about their day like a normal person and don’t behave the way the IWC does.
@Gullitxtra@WrestleOps@SBJ He’s not saying he doesn’t listen to feedback. Just not losers online. They will have merch numbers/minute by minute rating breakdowns etc to judge stuff. IWC is generally out of touch with real life. They’ll hate something that gets mega pops and love stuff that doesn’t sell.
@JohnBow31350342@FromLexy@WrestleOps@SBJ If that was just fans whining online he’d never have been brought back. Just like Rock v Roman would have happened in 2024 if it was just online and didn’t result in actual boos in real life arenas.
@Fightful He’s a star I’m afraid. I think 99% of wrestlers today could walk down any random street without being mobbed. Probably only 3-4 who are this over.
@WONF4W Please tell me Foley doesn’t still have a podcast. There’s already half a dozen AEW guys with podcasts who talk about WWE more than their own company every week. We don’t need anymore.
@WONF4W WWE’s plans never changed. Rock’s sure did though. HHH booking Cody to win the Rumble knowing it would then cause fan revolt over Rock getting the spot and it would have to change back to what he planned all along was his best political move in decades.
