Animals are my best friends
@KameliaKilawan@Sid_huma@AJStream Being a female I was often told that this field is not for "respectable" women... so i made sure to step into this profession to make space for other respectable women!
Dr. Sundas Zahid from Mansehra, who has loved animals and birds since childhood, is now actively working for wildlife conservation and has even authored a book on the subject. She says that due to a lack of awareness, people often harm wildlife out of fear, making public education and awareness essential for its protection.
In this extreme heat, let us also remember the birds and animals around us. A small bowl of water kept outside your home, balconies, terraces, shops or offices can become a lifeline for a thirsty bird. May compassion guide us in these difficult days.
The Lahore High Court’s direction has created an opportunity for the Punjab to shift from reactive violence toward long-term policy implementation based on vaccination, sterilisation, and public awareness. Is Pakistan’s PECA law protecting citizens or suppressing dissent?
Introduced in 2016 to combat cybercrime, the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) has undergone major changes over the years. With the 2025 amendments, new powers have been introduced—from regulating social media platforms to penalising “fake news.”
But critics argue the law is vague, open to misuse, and increasingly used to target journalists, activists, and even ordinary citizens.
What does this mean for freedom of speech in Pakistan?
Is this about protection or suppression? Watch till the end and decide.
Thank you for your insights @alihamzaisb@sarmadaali1

"The Islamabad High Court imposed a permanent ban on the poisoning, shooting, and indiscriminate killing of stray dogs in the federal capital, directing authorities to implement a 'catch, neuter, vaccinate and release' programme for controlling the population."
