Asked the chatGPT How to find Email Copywriting clients?
It showed 7 simple ways to get clients.
Here is what it showed...
1. Networking: Attend industry events and conferences, and connect with professionals in your field.
🚨My creative team won't be happy if I share this.
But I don’t give a damn.
Here's my COMPLETE blueprint for scaling multiple ecom brands to $30K/day with Facebook ads.
Steal it before I delete it 👇
Last week I wrote some sales copy for a client. Long story, but basically they’d paid me for it over a year ago, disappeared, then showed up out of the blue a few weeks back going “hey we’re ready for that video script!” I thought about refunding them but, honestly, didn’t want to give back $50k because I’m only human...
So instead I wrote it. Wasn’t hard. Used AI for the first draft then spent a few hours editing and improving. Sent it to the client on Friday and they love it and “think it will smash.” Yay.
Then, this morning, I was out walking my dog and I thought of a really good additional angle for the VSL. So I emailed the client a minute ago and shared the angle + mapped out exactly how it could be executed, including how to structure it, how to tie it into the script I just wrote, etc.
I believe this impulse is one of the reasons I was such a successful freelance copywriter. It wasn’t just: get money -> do job -> say goodbye.
There was an emotional investment in each piece of sales copy I created. I was deeply thoughtful during every step of the process: research, ideation, structure, actual writing, editing, and so on…
And after shipping the work, I would stay in close contact with the client as well. I’d review the video production, give them more headlines, or even proactively send them new hooks/concepts that they might benefit from testing.
Hell, even when something bombed, I’d work with the client to do rewrites or help them troubleshoot the reason why - whether that was because something was off with the sales copy, or because there was something off with their funnel.
The result: I made $1MM+ in freelancing income for several years in a row.
The money didn’t come because I’m a good writer: I simply cared more about the work, and my clients, than 95% of my competition…
And it can be a huge edge for anyone in a services based business.
The bar is low. Most people don’t care. So simply giving a damn immediately puts you at the front of the pack.
