Behind the scenes with my partner in music and in life, Mdu finding the perfect chords and sharing some laughs.!
We are officially locking in and finishing up the final details for my 3rd studio album! I am putting my whole heart into these tracks for you.
I am deeply humbled and thankful to the Mzantsi Jazz Awards for the 4 nominations for my album “Okae Molao”🙏🏿The album mainly addresses the GBV issue and also “Molao” (The law) as a whole, we definitely need “Molao” (The law) now, more than ever. Thank you for the support🎼🎶🎹🔥
it has been over ten years since l last released a full album. In that time, I’ve lived, I’ve grown, I’ve taught, and I’ve gathered so many new stories to tell.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your patience. I can’t wait to share this next chapter!
Connecting worlds through melody and tongue. 🌍
I’m often asked why I sing in so many languages, and the answer is simple: to find the common heartbeat we all share. This Portuguese + African set with @Mduduzi_Mtshali was a highlight of the Portugal Council event. 🇵🇹✨
Today marks a special day, and I would like to extend my gratitude to Yahweh for life 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🎂🎂🎂. Also, this time last year was a pivotal moment for me, as I released this body of work. We need law enforcement now more than ever, #okaemolao#jazzpiano
Happy Birthday to my partner in music and in life, @Mduduzi_Mtshali ! 🎹♥️
Most people know you as the brilliant maestro on the keys, but our children and I know you as the steady heart of our home. We love you Hlabangane!♥️
Music has been my greatest teacher, my healer, and my constant. ✨🎤Looking at the woman in these photos from the ‘Your Love’ live recording, I see how much I’ve changed and evolved, but my heart remains the same. I am grateful for the journey.
There is a profound sense of purpose that comes with sharing my gift.
I find myself so deeply inspired by this exchange. To see my students take the lessons, find their own rhythm, and begin to walk their own path is one of the greatest rewards of my journey.
Allow me to boldly re-introduce myself in ‘26! My name is Mimi Mtshali! ✨🎤❤️
Setting the mood for the first weekend of ‘26. ✨Throwing it back to this soulful “Night of Reflection” moment last year on stage! This is the energy I’m bringing on stage all year! 🎤🎶
#Mimimtshali
There is something sacred about being the voice for a new beginning. ✨
It was an honour to be a part of this beautiful union today. Standing here always takes me back to the little girl who sang at her teacher’s wedding-still moved by the same magic!🥂✨🎤
When we prepare, we’re curating an experience, layer by layer. We revisit the classics, challenge our own arrangements, and make sure every song has a purpose. 🎤✨

Remembering where it all began…
It’s #ThrowbackThursday, today my heart is back in the season of Essence of My Soul. This album was my first ‘yes’ to the world—a solo journey of faith, jazz, and finding my true voice. It remains the foundation of everything I do.✨
They call us the modern-day ‘Mam Letta & Bab Caiphus...’and every time I hear it, I’m humbled.✨
To be mentioned in the same breath as such icons is an honour Mdu and I don’t take lightly.✨ PS:We’d love to share this inspired magic with you at @hughs_jazz_club on the 26.02
