@ReloadedJu I don’t get the heat from everyone after literally everyone begged her to release it… I would get if it was made as a cash trap after she went viral for other things, but she’s been sitting on this song for years 😆
@awerenn It’s definitely better than the other shit they’ve been releasing here recently so I’ll give them a second chance… but they are very close to the end for me.
If Bridgit Mendler had been backed by a stronger label and given the same long-term investment that artists like Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, or even Sabrina Carpenter eventually received, I genuinely think she could have reached a similar level of mainstream success.
But at the same time, I feel like she left Hollywood for her own good because she refused to sell her soul. Looking at the life and career she's built since then, it's hard to argue that she made the wrong choice.
JOSIE AND THE PUSSYCATS (2001) got trapped by its own marketing. Sold as a lightweight teen movie for tweens, it was actually a sharp satire of consumerism, and pop music culture. A lot of the audience it was aimed at was too young to catch the joke.
