Generations of American patriots, from our revolution onward, have fought for the principles Zelenskyy is risking his life to defend. But today, Donald Trump and JD Vance attacked Zelenskyy and pressured him to surrender the freedom of his people to the KGB war criminal who invaded Ukraine. History will remember this day— when an American President and Vice President abandoned all we stand for.
@kaitlancollins@Alyssafarah The formerly greatest nation on Earth bullying one of the most bravest nations on Earth to surrender to the evil empire had to be one of the most disgusting public displays ever put on in the White House in front of cameras.
It would be a shame if thousands of Americans called the President of UPenn demanding that Julia be fired and held accountable.
It would be a shame if this went viral.
WSJ tweeted this to its 20 million followers and it has under 400 retweets - presumably suppressed due to the link out. “Elon Musk has secretly been in regular contact with Russian President Vladimir Putin since late 2022”
Meet Christopher Husary of Hayward CA.
In January, he stole a woman's Israel flag and set fire to it. Husary was arrested, convicted of 2nd degree robbery w/a hate crime enhancement, and will be spending a year in prison.
Moral of the story?
Don't be like Christopher Husary.
Kamala Harris once fought an antisemite in my father Elie Wiesel’s defense. He was attacked by a white supremacist in 2007 who wanted him to renounce his memoir, Night. Harris prosecuted the attack as a hate crime, and the perpetrator served time.
Does she still fight antisemitism today as resolutely? Let's review the data.
Vice President Harris spoke truth to her own base when she called out the “brutal terrorist organization Hamas, which has vowed to annihilate… Israel and kill Jews.” But then she “studied the maps” and warned Israel not to go into Rafah. Had Israel listened, Yahya Sinwar would not be dead and Hamas would not be crippled militarily.
When activists pronounced her openness to an arms embargo against Israel, Presidential Candidate Harris corrected them publicly. But she said nothing earlier this month when the White House threatened an arms embargo on Israel over aid continually stolen by Hamas.
She silenced angry crowds accusing Israel of genocide two months ago, then failed to repudiate a heckler last week who used the phrase. Instead she said “what he’s talking about, it’s real”, leaving many scratching their heads.
Even worse, Harris tolerated the lie that Israel purposefully causes excessive collateral damage. “As Israel defends itself, it matters how,” she said last December. “Too many innocent Palestinians have been killed… innocent civilian lives should not be intentionally targeted”.
For the Vice President to publicly mention Israel and the intentional targeting of innocent civilians in the same breath is dangerous and ill-advised. By entertaining these accusations, she ignored John Spencer’s, chair of War Studies at West Point, forceful assertion: Israel has "done everything the US military has ever done in the history of urban combat and things that we've never done" to mitigate civilian casualties. Holding Israel to impossible standards -- overlooking how America prosecuted every urban battlefield from Nazi Germany and Axis Japan to Al Qaeda after 9/11 -- falls into an antisemitic Hamas trap.
What Harris is facing has precedent. President Roosevelt stepped with extreme care as isolationist, peace-at-all-costs voters demanded we abandon Britain to the Nazis during his 1940 Presidential election campaign. Pacifying domestic opposition is part of the job. Questioning a close allies’ integrity as they fight for their lives is morally and strategically wrong.
Recent polls show that Americans overwhelmingly support Israel, blame Iran and Hamas for the conflict, and believe any ceasefire must include the surrender of Hamas.
Is Harris ready to affirm, to all audiences, that Hamas and Iran -- not Israel -- are responsible for this war and all of its brutal consequences?
That victory is preferable to compromise with terrorists who murder, rape and refuse to surrender the hostages?
That the actual requirement for long term peace is that the Palestinian people, who have turned down a state multiple times, must abandon hate?
Harris has only days left to put flip-flopping behind her. Tonight marks the first Yahrzeit, or Jewish memorial anniversary, of October 7th’s initial victims. The Tree of Life anniversary in Pittsburgh, with its swing voters, falls three days later.
She can offer moral clarity in these somber moments.
She can pledge, if elected, that applicants to her several thousand political appointments will -- in line with her husband’s National Antisemitism Policy -- be comprehensively vetted for calls to Intifada and other antisemitic hate speech.
She can show unflinching resolve to defeat our adversaries in the Middle East and extinguish antisemitism at home.
That is her path to earn the respect -- and votes -- she seeks from undecided voters who believe that standing up against terror, and for our allies, defines what it means to be Presidential.
This is one of the terror-supporters involved in setting up the encampment at UCLA last night.
