On this day, 4/26, Lucille Ball died of ruptured AAA. A week prior she had a type A repair. Were they linked? Genetics? How would that be different today? 37 years later and we still looking for answers #IMPROVE-AD
The International Registry of Aortic Dissection (IRAD) turns 30 years old today. 60 Centers, nearly 18,000 patients, more than 125 publications…IRAD gives a voice to patients and families with this rare and highly dangerous problem. We can do better…no we must do better…
@raimcsantos Hard to argue when saving a life or limb is the question. However in someone with possible genetic aortopathy, I worry about that “strange” looking proximal end of the stent graft and also the use of bare stents. The serve no purpose in my view!
@DrMakaryFDA@US_FDA All great and congratulations. For year two, how about aligning data with therapy and reimbursement. In RVU world, industry get more devices put in with no proven benefit to patients and cost keep escalating. #Help NIH trial
