Thanks to the Argentinian publication La Nacion which carries an article (in Spanish) about Agatha Christi and others signing the petition to save the Traditional Mass in 1971: link in reply. The movement had a number of Argentinian supporters, notably Jorge Luis Borges. 1/2

Rome needs to make sensitive pastoral provisions for these people who love Christ and His Church.

You don’t get excommunicated for sins or even heresy. You face that penalty only for things which contradict the reality of the Church in a specific way. Consecrating bishops may not be the worst possible sin, but a murderer is not creating a schism.
