When people donated their hard earned money to a charity to build and maintain London’s bridges over the last 850 years - I can guarantee you that not one of them expected that their money would be diverted to organisations called:
209 years ago today, Britain ARMED an African king. 🇬🇧
Muskets. Gunpowder. Ten thousand gun flints. Four hundred red coats. 💂
British sergeants to train his army. A salary in gold and silver, every year. 💰
Britain wanted him to win. 👑
Valley after valley. Chief after chief. Until two-thirds of Madagascar was under his rule. 🗺️
On purpose. 👀
Why? 🤔
Because on that island, chiefs raided villages and sold the people. To French slave ships. To Arab dhows. To other African kingdoms. ⛓️
Then they bought guns with the money. To raid more villages. 🔥
Guns for people. People for guns. 🔁
Britain had banned its own slave trade in 1807. But it couldn’t guard every beach on an island nearly a thousand miles long. 🌊
So a sergeant from Cork travelled 28 days, by canoe and on foot, to reach the king. 🛶
For two months they bargained. Then he made an offer nobody had authorised. 🤝
Every gun the slave trade gave the king, Britain would give him free. If he stopped selling people. ✋
On 23 October 1817, the king signed. Selling his people abroad would be punished by death. ✍️
Then Britain helped him take the island. Port after port, every one closed to the slave ships. ⚓
They teach you Britain profited from slavery. 📚
They never teach you how we got them to stop selling their own people. 🤫
Britain armed an African king. On purpose. 🇬🇧
Be part of us. ☝️🇬🇧
Be Proud Of Us. 🙏🇬🇧
This is clearly insane.
A charity set up to maintain London’s bridges is sitting on £1.5 BILLION, funding political campaigns and giving £1.1m to a group with links to a charity now under investigation over alleged Hamas connections.
Meanwhile, Hammersmith Bridge is still closed and other Thames crossings are crumbling.
What on earth are @cityoflondon doing?

A rare moment of political courage in the British Parliament.
British MP Nick Timothy tells Muslims crying “Islamophobia” to shove it: “Muhammad was a false prophet. Britain is not bound by Islam or Sharia.”
This is Collette. She has shared how her tenant wrecked her home after refusing to leave or pay £55,000 in rent over three years – and it cost her thousands of pounds to remove her.
Collette began letting out her two-bedroom family home to a new tenant in May 2021 at £1,600 per month.
Prior to renting out the property, Collette had lived there with her son, and began letting it out 11 years ago when she relocated.
Again, I don't get this. Robert Jenrick knows how these issues resonate with the public. That's why he's been doing a whole thing on fare-dodging and shop-lifting.
In 1996 the BBC put two large women on a motorbike and sidecar, sent them round Britain cooking with lard, cream and butter by the block, and twelve million people a week sat down to watch them refuse to apologise for it.
Jennifer Paterson was sixty-eight, a Catholic who had cooked for the staff of The Spectator and been sacked for throwing the crockery out of the window. Clarissa Dickson Wright was a barrister who had drunk her way through a fortune and come out the other side. Neither had been on television. Both had been told all their lives that the way they ate was going to kill them, and both had decided they would rather be fat and fed than thin and lied to.
If you watched it you remember the sound of it. Jennifer scraping an entire pack of butter into a pan while talking about the war. Clarissa holding up a lump of suet to the camera and saying the word with relish. Game pie, kidneys in cream, bacon fat poured over cabbage, a pudding made with a pound of dripping. They cooked for monks, for lifeboatmen, for the Women's Institute, in country-house kitchens with the Aga going.
And every episode had a moment where one of them turned to the lens and said what nobody else on television would. Low fat was a fraud. Margarine was a chemical. Vegetarianism was for people with something wrong with them. Clarissa said if God had not meant us to eat animals he would not have made them out of meat.
It went out in forty countries. The BBC had expected a curiosity and got the most watched cooking programme it had ever made.
Jennifer died in 1999, of lung cancer, with a tin of caviar on the bedside table that she had asked for. Clarissa went in 2014 at sixty-six, having spent her last years defending the butcher, the gamekeeper and the dairy farmer against a country that had forgotten what they were for.
They were never right about everything. They were right about the one thing the nation was being lied to about, and they said it with a sidecar and a block of butter in front of twelve million people at a time when every other cook on television was holding up a tub of spread.
I’m old enough to know what happened when the IRA a terrorist organisation who targeted innocent shoppers & school children regularly bombed London & Manchester. Yet they’ve received a pardon whilst we criminalise, & hunt our own soldiers, & we wonder why no one wants to fight for our country!
Look what happens when you have no idea who you are letting into your country in huge numbers. Illegal mass immigration in to Europe has got to stop. Governments 1st responsibility is to the safety of its people. That has not happened for a long time. Liberal Suicidal empathy is self destruction
