Reality - Change is slow and gradual. It requires hard work, a bit of luck, a fair amount of sacrifice, and a lot of patience.
Fantasy - A sudden transformation will bring a total change in one's fortunes, bypassing work, luck, self sacrifice and time in one fantastic stroke.
More than half of Nigerian immigrants in Canada screen positive for clinical depression.
Not homesickness. Not stress. Clinical depression. Measured. Peer reviewed. Published.
The risk does not go down the longer you stay. It goes up.
The japa conversation is about getting there.
What happens after you arrive and the adrenaline wears off is a conversation we are not having.
Are we talking about this enough or are we still calling it a spiritual problem?
Nigerian “discipline” is highly overrated. Look at the society that discipline created, morally bankrupt and anyhow. It’s just abuse and suffering packaged as discipline.
I agree that expanding this World Cup to 48 teams was a mistake. Belgium, a nation that has never won the World Cup or Euros is playing against 7 time African Champions, Egypt.
grateful for all the ego deaths i experienced this year and the last
very happy to not take myself too seriously
life no serious, we’re all gonna die, the goal is to just make sure as much as i can i am having a good time
everything else is secondary
I do find the reaction to the CL final yday interesting. Have seen so many comments about how if Arsenal went out there and tried to play football they would have got murdered. Possibly. Who knows. We know Arteta certainly wasnt going to try.
Arsenal have played this horrendous brand of football all season long. It wasn’t a new style for this game. It was just exacerbated by game state and opposition. 24.7% possession says everything. This is the worst team I have seen for playing style relative to their resources. Ever.
This Arsenal team wasn’t going in as some plucky underdog. They have just won the PL ffs. They have spent over a billion pounds since Arteta has been at the club. They should be able to impose their own style on the game. This is meant to be an elite team. They play as if they are a League 2 team up against a top 6 team in the FA Cup. Some plucky underdog.
They had a set of fixtures from the gods in this tournament. I would be shocked if it isn’t the easiest run to a final in the modern era.
I understand winning is all that seemingly counts. Surely there will come a time and point where Arsenal fans want a little bit more given the resources Arteta has had available to him.
