As part of #generationib, our #cjcibdp team visited the Art of Living Ashram Bangalore to see how they effectively use agri-waste. This waste included everything from food and paper to husks of nuts! This was a huge help to the #environmentib part of our objective.
A big thank you to all who joined today’s Facebook live webinar with @JeffDSachs Director of the @unsdsn! The recording is now available in our website for you to watch, share and get some great inspiration for your #generationIB project!

We are team UnUgly. We chose to solve the problem of #uglyproduce in India. Our farmers fail to get fair prices for fruits and vegetables that are misshaped and discoloured. We create a supply chain to sell this produce to hotels, cafes and consumers #generationIB#environmentIB
So encouraging to see our #generationIB project being recognised by accomplished Startups. This highlights the importance of initiatives helping the farmers of India and has replenished our determination to solve the problem of #uglyproduce#environmentIB@iborganization
What did we do with all the produce that was being fed to the bins?
We decided to feed it to the less fortunate instead!
We collected over 20 kg of mangoes and distributed it to the slums of Bangalore! #generationIB#environmentIB
@ninjacart Thank you so much @ninjacart for acknowledging our initiative! Our Banglore based Startup- Farm to Fork supplies ugly produce directly from farms to the Military and eateries. Being in the same city, we would love to meet you guys to further our talks!
Our team leader @sakshi_agarwal_ went to the Madiwala Mandi to conduct a survey on #uglyproduce. Every day about 10 BBMP trucks wait outside this mandi to sweep off the produce thrown on the road and dump it in the landfills! #generationIB#environmentIB
"Yellow color on the green vegetables is not liked by our customers. If they are small or broken, no one buys the carrots"
This is a common problem statement among all the vendors in the Indian Farmers' markets.

20-50% of the Farmers’ produce is unsold across the world. This produce is called ‘Ugly Produce’, a bunch of fresh but misshaped and discolored produce that doesn’t qualify to be on the shelves of the grocery stores because of their cosmetic beauty
