I’ll never get over the lack of attention track and field gets. Alison dos Santos breaks a record many thought would stand for 10+ years. As a non boxer I love boxing but I can’t stand what this streamer generation is turning it into.

Boxing is not the ultimate combat methodology, it is a gentlemen’s contest. Simple rules and limited weapons, if you fall down I’ll let you recover, stand up, and we’ll start again.

It’s a sign of nobility to be able to fight within a limited rule set and that is what should be emphasized, not that boxers are somehow tougher or more dangerous then mma fighters.

The same way an mma fighter would get skewered by a fencer and a fencer would get dropped from 200 yards by a marksman, these are different contests but these young dudes are convinced that being a boxer makes them a badass.
