First, Imran Khan’s electoral mandate was stolen.

This repression did not occur in isolation. A UN human rights expert has formally stated that Imran Khan’s solitary confinement and inhumane detention conditions must end, underscoring the political nature of his imprisonment and the grave violations of international human rights standards.

The Commonwealth Observer Group’s report on Pakistan’s fraudulent 2024 elections was deliberately kept from the public. Following this exposure, the Commonwealth was forced to officially release the report, confirming widespread electoral irregularities.

the dismantling of democratic norms to preserve authoritarian rule in Pakistan.
