Muslim girl students wearing burqas from a Shantiniketan Women's College Erragadda Hyderabad were allegedly taken to Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s rally at Nizam College under the pretext of staging a protest over a scholarship issue. The girls were reportedly shocked and distressed after seeing the massive crowd. The college principal apologised to the students and their parents. However, the girls and their parents alleged that they felt unsafe amid the huge gathering and were brought to the rally by bus through misleading assurances and against their will. Former Uttar Pradesh minister and Samajwadi Party leader Mohd. Azam Khan has approached the Supreme Court challenging his ED arrest, made just 40 minutes after his release on bail in another case. His plea seeks to quash both the arrest and the subsequent judicial custody remand order.
