I cannot believe this sentence that was handed down today. Please someone, explain it to me.

On September 30, 2023 in Aberdeenshire, Courtney Gartshore took a hairdryer and pointed it at her 3 month old daughter.

She used the highest heat setting and, ignoring her daughter’s cries, directed the hot air at her face and body.

The little girl died after suffering serious burns on 18% of her body.

Gartshore was convicted of homicide in July 2026 and sentenced today.

The sentence? 6 years.

Yes, that is not a typo. 6 years.

Gartshore had been drinking and taking drugs but I fail to see how this sentence is fair.

Two men have been charged after Sara Sharif’s dad had his neck and face slashed open with a tuna tin lid in his jail cell.

Urfan Sharif, 43, was allegedly ambushed in his cell at HMP Belmarsh, South London, last year.

It came just weeks into his life sentence for murdering ten-year-old Sara after a sickening campaign of abuse.

The Crown Prosecution Service today confirmed Steven Sansom and Adam Watson have been charged with attempted murder and section 18 offences.

Should get early release not charged.

A man who repeatedly dropped a stone slab on a rough sleeper's head has been convicted of his murder for a second time.
Sergio Lemori repeatedly dropped the heavy object onto Andrew O'Connell - who was unknown to him- as he was sleeping in Royal Pavilion Gardens Brighton shortly before nidnight in August 2018.
Lemori was later sentenced to life imprisonment, but after serving more than six years he successfully appealed on the basis of diminished responsibility. The case was re-heard at Hove Crown Court on 27. July and Lemori was again convicted on 6 August. On 11 August he was re-sentenced to life imprisonment. Mr O'Connell was found at 7.10am the morning after the attack and despite being taken to hospital, died two days later. He was 54.
