@DragonCobolt The fact that Spelljammer, Forgotten Realms, D&D, etc use the same rules omits that they each have fundamental flavors & colors unique to each. A giff might be on par with Your Standard Party, but flavor wise? The second a Spelljammer enters a spelljammer setting, it changes it

@DragonCobolt FR is the Kitchen Sink problem, where AnYtHiNg cAn hApPeN and so all of the neat, weird niche bits get smoothed out. It's the same reason I'm wary of crossover fanfic- you CAN mix Lord of the Rings + Harry Potter... but you risk losing what makes each setting special.
