The BBC documentary, "Who Fired Into The Crowd" exposes some things you knew, and others you didn't.
The main one you knew is that it wasn't Uhuru Kenyatta's presidential guards firing into unarmed mourners, but William Ruto's. The heavily armed guards were not in danger. Neither was their boss, who wasn't even in sight at the time. They simply killed for sport. Two of the deceased were in fact nearly 200 meters away in the opposite stands from the VIP dais.
But what may not have been too visible to the public was the obsessive attempts to make Raila, in his death, a state project, despite spending his entire life as a project of the people.
If Raila's funeral had been left to the family, ODM and the masses, there would never have been presidential guards there, purporting to hold the primary responsibility of protecting Ruto, when the most primary need for millions of Kenyans was to mourn their icon.
Those who died at Kasarani did because Ruto imposed himself into the "Raila system", causing the need to sneak Raila's remains into a heavily guarded VIP section. The natural Raila format would have been an open field among the people.
All the chaos, from Nairobi to Kisumu to Bondo, revolved around the public trying to get close to their beloved leader and to bid him proper farewell, while government apparatus sought to instead create an atmosphere for a state funeral, for maximum validation.
The people who took over Raila's funeral rites never understood the Raila crowd, because they had lived all their lives on the opposite side of the political divide, trying to extinguish Raila and scatter his support. At Kasarani, they kept to their time-tested modus operandi; just shoot them!
No wonder Raila's spirit has rejected their project.
I am a kalenjin, But I am not looking for a kalenjin president. I am looking for someone who will bring equality and dignity to this country. A president who will follow the law and serve all Kenyans.

Somalia spent its best years chasing a Greater Somalia fantasy, invaded Ethiopia in 1977, got its ass handed to it, and then collapsed into a failed state. Now it posts maps of conquering its neighbors while begging foreign troops and US airstrikes just to keep Al-Shabaab out of its own capital.
The entirety of Kenya's economy seems to be built for foreigners to thrive on the backs of Kenyans. Every sector extracts from kawaida Kenyans, pays politicians kickbacks and then carries a large amount of proceeds to foreign countries. Enforced poverty.
UhuRuto successfully outsourced Kenya’s future to lenders.
Kenyans work,
Govt borrows,
Lenders collect.
We work for lenders, while the govt takes credit for the jobs.
Everybody wins, except Kenyans.

Never joke with the blood of an innocent man.
Boniface Kariuki, the mask seller, was shot and killed.
He had no wife, no child, no family of his own to come home to.
His life was cut short before he could build the family he might have dreamed of.
The officer who shot him is in prison. Now the officer’s wife is pregnant by another man add another painful twist to this tragedy.
Think about it.
Kariuki is dead, childless and gone forever.
The officer is in prison, and his own family is facing turmoil.
Two different tragedies, but one irreversible truth: a bullet can change lives forever.
A uniform is not a licence to kill. A gun is not a permit to take an innocent life.
Let this be a lesson to every officer who thinks the power of a gun makes them untouchable.
Every trigger has consequences, and no uniform can shield anyone from accountability.
Boniface Kariuki deserved to live. His life mattered.
"In 2022 ,I walked around saying that william Ruto wold become president.people thought i was mad.Did he not become president? Today i'm walking arounda saying Sifuna will be president in 2007"~Bonnie khalwale.
I would rather have Sifuna in State House with his can of Tusker Lite than these sanctimonious religious leaders who go to bow in a Mosque then proceed to Sodomize a blogger.
