Have bottled my experiment now, it has a lovely colour and is actually very drinkable! The tawny port has imparted a lovely fruitiness and it is less spiky than the original new make.

A bit of fun having a go at 'ageing' some whisky with a 1L barrel kindly bought by my wife for Xmas. I've seasoned it with some Tawny Port and now to fill with some peated new make.
