The moderator tried to slip in the "fact" that the Haitian immigrants are "legal" and move onto another topic without giving Vance time to respond.

Since the moderator had introduced this "fact check" without nuance -- and against the specific agreed-upon rules of the debate -- Vance entirely reasonably insisted on clarifying to viewers that the Haitian immigrants are not "legal" because they went through our established legal immigration system, but because the Harris-Biden administration has expanded and is abusing TPS as a form of executive amnesty.

It was an entirely legitimate point to make, and the fact that the moderators tried to prevent him from making it was just another example of bias.
