It is unfortunate that we have to make notifications about not attending the rally. It is not because we do not want to. Simply because the safety of our students come first & what happened last Friday showed that we were not welcome or safe. It has nothing to do with division.
We in NO way wanted to upset ANYONE in our community. We simply marched against the POLICE BRUTALITY that African Americans face EVERY DAY. We in NO way said that NO ONE ELSE MATTERED. Please, STOP making this about division when it is simply for JUSTICE.
It’s unfortunate that the narrative of the march we participated in has been changed to make it seem as if the protestors were the ones throwing items, shouting racial slurs, and trying to attack others. WE were faced with all of the listed oppositions and STILL remained calm.
Educate yourself before speaking out. Learn ALL the facts before speaking out. KNOW YOUR RIGHTS, LAWS, AND HISTORY before speaking out. Ignorance not only hurts yourself, but the others around you.
PSA‼️‼️‼️ DO NOT PARTICIPATE IN THE “UNITY” MARCH JULY 3rd. IT IS NOT ORGANIZED BY UNCP, IT DOES NOT HAVE A PERMIT, AND IT WILL GET VIOLENT! PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD!!!!! DO NOT ATTEND THE UNITY MARCH JULY THIRD!!!!!
NAACP is working hard to get our students represented and heard. We will not be satisfied until changes are heard, are made, and are seen! We are BRAVES. We will not back down! Together we stand!

Celebrities and people with money can’t have the power or money they have without their fan base/supporters. So y’all can’t be hootin & hollerin’ at these people and then go buy their products. You have to get them where it HURTS. THEIR POCKETS!!!!!

NAACP urges our UNCP students and others to VOTE! The White House needs more people who believe in the changes & issues at hand to take those steps to start change. We need people who have compassion & who do not value monetary businesses and materials over their own citizens.
