$4300 vet bill for Nelson’s emergency surgery…how does anyone afford this crap. No payment plans either unless u get a credit card. I know we have the money I just can’t imagine any other person paying this amount it’s disgusting 😀

@macaiyla and sadly that’s just the way pet insurances work. They want you to pay your vet bill fully out of pocket and the insurance reimburses you as they see fit. 2.) vet med can’t follow you with your unpaid debt like hospitals can so the staff, doctors, and the hospital go unpaid 🤷🏽‍♀️

@macaiyla I work at a major emergency animal hospital and we are trained to kindly rip off the bandaid on how much your bill is. I have a theory that the main reasons they make you pay in full upfront is because 1.) compared to a human ER, pet insurance is not applied to your visit (1/2)
