@iicctwtysy@0bNARA "all you do is create loops" feels as applicable to programming as it does to knitting.
Is it reductive to the point of absurdity? Absolutely.
Technically true statement? Probably (certainly is for programming).
@thebigJ_A@esjesjesj Reminds me of working customer support for an ISP, telling folks to unplug their modem for 10 second before plugging it back in. The only difference the 10 seconds made was increasing the likelihood they did what I asked instead of lying and just saying they did.
@z_bittz@esjesjesj Maybe they could sell it to someone who can afford to be a landlord. Investments are risks. Landlords aren't entitled to their gambles paying off, but tenants are entitled to a habitable docimile.
If no one is buying, maybe they can lower the price. Again, risks.
@czljp@sl00011101@mcsquared34 Brother, the billionaires decide what to pay you. If you don't have a job you starve. The power imbalance is inherent. As long as they can ensure people are desperate (and they can), they'll always have people to underpay.
"no raise this decade, CEO needs another Jet"
@Veronica031103@owl_and_flowers@DrNeilStone It's basically confusing the use of the term fertility as it's applied to a population with how it's applied to an individual, as well as erroneously conflating population fertility decreasing with a decrease in population growth, despite the opposite often being the case.
@x_rondo1 @Jess_did_it_x@empresslovely69@roisinmurphy No, the criteria is similtaneously being a has-been and dancing with TERF ideology.
There are probably plenty of TERFs who aren't has-beens, but they don't warrant a mention since they're outside the topic (which is "has-beens who decided to become TERFs").
@sl00011101@mcsquared34 Until people are paid a fair wage for the work they perform, billionaires are the ones living off other people's money.
Having lots of money makes it incredibly easy to suppress average/median wages. Unchecked wealth hoarding is more akin to theft than taxes will ever be.
@Bob333Buchanan@mcsquared34 If you were on food-stamps growing up, you weren't doing it alone. Do you think you could have done it without the assistance you received?
Are you advocating to take away the very assistance that ensured you were able to climb out of the hole you started in? Why?
@VitaminD_Record@aprilajoyr You know the workers would also get the car for free, right? I mean, that's what you're saying they're implying. If cars are all free, then the people making them are getting a free car too.
"why would anyone work together for a common cause, instead of for their own interests?"
@borderline_slut @ATiffanyx4@j5siah @YourLemonLove I completely agree. I was only challenging the notion that we don't do it to adults.
My pointing at the prison system is entirely an indictment of "abuse as discipline".
I'm in every way opposed to punitive justice, and support rehabilitative justice whole-chestedly.
