@Ronak0010@BipinLAW@pushpikaa_@rachinkalakheti@BeingNirvana@binji_x p.p.p.s. My prayers are with Nepal. I pray that it won't end up for Nepal like it ended up for the Middle East after the Arab Spring, also organized on social media, also originally as a bottom-up movement...
p.s. Corporations are to be blamed too. After monetizing the Nepali audience for the last 30 years, how much investment has come from these companies into the country? And when the country goes into fires, they ALL prefer to stay silent. We live in the world with inefficient and corrupt governments all around, but I have a feeling, one day, when the corporations will take over all the power in the world and control on everything, we might think about national states as a great good comparing what "KPI achieving" corporate teams will do with humanity...
Discord voting in that situation was a genius move. Unbelievable, but indeed (and finally) we see Web3 community management tools applied to something truly urgent, real, and important. A long way to go, but the start is tremendous. Hope and example for all youth in the world came from a place no one would ever expect. And at last but not least, after all people of Nepal went out to clean the mess on the third day, all world was heart touched. For me, that was the biggest difference from many other unsuccessful violent attempts to change for good. Keep it up, Nepal!๐ณ๐ตโค๏ธ
I already miss Nepal ๐ณ๐ต
Only spent 30 days there, but it feels like much more, as I now have about 30 new friends and so many stories to share.
I got to see things I never imagined seeing in person, like the mountains, and met a LOT of kind and welcoming people.
@Ronak0010 was a great host (even if he looks like an altar boy). He set me up at @UnderKong Hacker House for two weeks, where the @SuperteamNP build Station was happening.
I got to meet builders, share ideas, and connect with people who are just as bullish on Solana as I am.
It was a whirlwind of experiences.
Late nights talking on the balcony with our crazy Russian housemates, making pizzas and barbecues with guests, exploring narrow streets full of colors, and walking through temples where the scent of incense lingers in the air. We have even played D&D on one sunday!
But beyond the fun, it was genuinely inspiring.
Thereโs something mesmerizing about the way Nepali treat each other.
Always gentle, always polite โ even in the busiest markets. Iโve never been to a place where respect feels so natural.
The way they fold their hands in a greeting, speak softly with a sense of humor, and place their left hand over the right when giving or receiving something โ itโs not just cultural, itโs a lesson in humanity.
Honestly, I would stay longer just for that.
Food was a festival in itself. Momos (a dozen varieties of them), Biryani, spicy chicken dishesโฆ And donโt even get me started on buffalo meat. Affordable and delicious.
As a digital nomad, Nepal is a hidden gem. Yes, there are water, electricity, and internet disruptions, but somehow, people find ways around them, creating a charming sense of resilience.
The Builder Station was a highlight.
From decentralized air and water quality measurement to loyalty platforms connecting fans and creators, from speed control systems designed to save lives to network tools and games.
Real innovation, driven by builders who see beyond the hype.
I hosted a mini-workshop to share the little experience I have and a few tips. Also, @streamflow_fi promoted a mini-bounty to incentivize users to integrate it.
I saw DePin and consumer projects with genuine potential. Not just another round of โmore of the sameโ but actual solutions.
Iโll bring more stories in the coming days.
But if youโre a company looking to tap into a fresh, vibrant market, sponsoring early-stage events here can be extremely cost-effective โ the talent and passion are undeniable.
If you ever have the chance, go visit Nepal.
For something that is far better than the mountains: the people. ๐๐
