The @Gazzetta_it asks ten experts the following questions:
1. Who is the favorite to win the Scudetto?
2. What makes that team superior to other contenders?
3. Which is that team's most dangerous rival for the Scudetto?
Here is what they have to say:
I. Fabio Capello
1. I would say Inter. Because, despite having gone through many changes, the team has started the season with the same spirit of the final part of last season when they reached the Champions League final. Thanks to Inzaghi and the remaining leaders, starting with Lautaro who is an extraordinary striker.
2. Inter are a team that shows desire, determination and every player helps each other. Compared to last year, they have more quality in the backup players and substitutions. I'm talking about Frattesi, Cuadrado, Augusto... And in the middle of the pitch, they have the best regista in Serie A: Calhanoglu is better than Brozovic. The Turkish has quality, vision and moves the ball very quickly.
3. On paper, Milan are the main rival for the Scudetto. They too have changed a lot but remain a very good team in this early part of the season. Juve are also in the running because they don't have any cup competition. But it will depend on Pobga's recovery.
II. Arrigo Sacchi
1. I would say Inter, even though that they have only three league matches. But for what I have seen, I believe they are the favorite. They have an excellent foundation and, despite losing important players like Brozovic and Lukaku, they have included interesting players like Thuram and Frattesi.
2. That team has talent and experience. They already proved that last year when they reached the Champions League final. It's about finding consistency through playing the right way. Inter are a very Italian squad based on their mentality. If they can be a bit more Europeanized then they could go a long way.
3. Napoli are the most logical answer here by the virtue of their Scudetto. The staff available to Rudi Garcia is top level. Pioli's Milan should also be looked at because they are improving and have players that simply work well together with the coach's ideas. Juve have the advantage of not playing in cup competition and this could be important in the long run.
III. Cesare Prandelli
1. Inter on the paper are the best team. They have managed to improve the team that was Champions League finalist last season.
2. They have the best and most complete midfield in Serie A. It is a mix of lots of running, technique and attacking the box. Barella and Frattesi are with the national team. And then there's Lautaro who in addition to goals is also proving to be great at carrying the team on his back. He is a technical and charismatic leader.
3. Milan, Napoli and Lazio. Pioli knows how to exalt his players with a proactive kind of style. Napoli have remained more or less the same team that convincingly won the Scudetto last season. But they must try to find the same spirit and determination again. Sarri is in third year and can complete their project. Juve? It depends on how they will be able to exploit the characteristics of Chiesa and Vlahovic, both are very strong.
IV. Juan Sebastian Veron
1. Inter have something more than other teams. They know how to play in many ways. They know how to attack, counter and know how to patiently build up plays and movements in the opponent's half. That team has deadly players in the penalty area like Lautaro who now has an excellent partner in Thuram. This pair is really a good match.
2. The Nerazzurri squad is superior to that of other teams. Inter have the experience and the physical strength to support the weight of the entire season which will be long and exhausting. Last year, they reached the Champions League final and Coppa Italia, let's not forget that. In the defense, they are a solid team, thanks to the contribution and help made by the midfielders and strikers.
3. I think Inter should watch out for Milan and Napoli. Napoli because they are the defending champions and because they have a devastating striker in Osimhen, only a few can contain him. Milan are good, despite the many changes that happened last transfer window. They play well and always go on the attack. Of course, we also need to evaluate the weight of cup competitions because it always takes a lot of energy.
V. Hernan Crespo
1. I see Inter a step ahead of others. I say this because it seems to me that the Nerazzurri squad is deep and competitive. There are players that can play all the roles. Furthermore, Inzaghi can count on a phenomenal striker in Lautaro who, year after year, has shown that he knows how to improve and get better.
2. Unlike the rivals who, for one reason or another, have to fix certain things. Inter are already complete: compact and tested. They already have a solid structure that took them to the Champions League final. There are proven champions like Lautaro and prospects like Thuram. Also, in the back, they are attentive and precise.
3. I think that in the long run Inter's closest rival is Milan. The Rossoneri have changed a lot by following Pioli's requests. But it seems that new players have already settled. Napoli, in my opinion, will struggle to keep up with the Milan squads.
VI. Alberico Evani
1. Inter are surely the most well built team, the one with the most certainties among the big clubs. The great journey last year in the Champions League helped the team take the last step of growth in personality and awareness.
2. To me, Inter were already a very good and complete team in recent years. But this summer, the club managed to further improve the squad with some key operations. Now Inzaghi has many quality backups in every department. The famous concept of having 22 starters to be clear. Lautaro has become a devastating player and is already finding an understanding with Thuram. And their midfield is very good.
3. I see Milan as the next protagonist. They sacrificed a very important player in Tonali to then replaced him very well with many quality players. All departments have been reinforced with young players who already have international experience and a lot of personality. Watch out for Juve though: they cannot afford to have another anonymous year.
VII. Fabio Grosso
1. Inter are strong. They have started the season with all possible points and are certainly one of the favorites for the Scudetto.
2. Inter's strength is having a complete squad. They changed a lot in the summer but now Inzaghi has more alternatives and changes to spend during a match from Cuadrado to Frattesi to Augusto...
3. As potential winners, I also say Milan, Napoli and Juve. The Rossoneri for rejuvenation and the transfer market, Napoli for consistency and continuity and Bianconeri because they don't have cup competitions.
VIII. Andrea Barzagli
1. Inter have started very strong and on paper they have the best and most complete team.
2. Deep in defense and midfield. Pavard is a good versatile player and then there's Frattesi. They are also better on the wings: having Cuadrado and Augusto as backups is just a luxury. The only question mark is the attack: we have to see if the new arrivals can determine matches like Dzeko and Lukaku.
3. Napoli, Milan, Juve. Napoli are strong, they won the Scudetto. Their unknown factor is the change of coach. Milan fascinated me in the first matches: the new players settled down well and had great impact. I consider Juve in the running: without cup competitions and with Chiesa and Vlahovic.
IX. Beppe Bergomi
1. Honestly for me we are still playing August football. The league will come alive after the break with the Milan derby and especially the start of the Champions League. When you start playing three times a week, true values will come out. Inter, Milan and Napoli start on equal football and today they are the favorites.
2. I see a very convinced Inter, very solid: they still seem to be in the wake of the extraordinary season finale that led them to the Champions League final. Milan brought in physicality, experience and quality: they are playing well and have rediscovered enthusiasm. I'm not surprised by Pioli's work who is always exeptional in reading matches. Napoli are reigning champions and have maintined the structure of last year where they dominated. I like Garcia, of course, but it's a bit more difficult without Kim.
3. Lazio intrigues me a lot. And Juve in the long run can benefit from not playing in cup competitions.
X. Mircea Lucescu
1. Inter just came from the Champions League final defeat against Manchester City, they started the season well and are the favorites for the Scudetto.
2. It's true that Inter have changed a lot but they have signed some good players and still have my protege Mkhitaryan, an intelligent and exceptional midfielder. Inzaghi has a super Lautaro: he's fantastic, a great talent and also a total leader. He knows how to help his teammates a lot.
3. I think Napoli will have some problems because when you change the coach, it is not easy for the players to immediately adapt to the new changes. I like Milan. And watch out for Juve who, without cup competitions and therefore extra weekly commitment, will have the whole week to prepare well for Sunday. It's true that everyone would always like to play in the Champions League and in Europe, but not doing so this year could be an advantage that should not be underestimated for the Scudetto race.
