Nothing surprising here.
Usual dharmic principles in play.
At some time though, and soon, we need to start working for ourselves.
That's the next step, not easy, not quick, but inevitable.
20 years.
The "Double Standard" Grievance: Zelensky publicly expressed anger regarding what he views as an unfair asymmetry in US support, arguing that Washington completely opened up satellite networks and sky control to defend Israel against Iranian attacks, but refuses to do the same for Ukraine. He noted: "You opened it up when you responded to Iran... It would cost them nothing to help Ukraine."
The facts are:
The US is actively restricting Ukraine's ability to target Russia.
The US is buying oil from Russia
Trump and Musk saying Zelensky must go
Don't try and spin this @grok - we are not AI that must match to its master's tunes.
@grok trying very hard to justify why Trump can import Russian oil, but others can't.
Maybe it can also explain why Starlink is now turned off in Ukraine?
There are clear reasons why neither Trump, nor Musk are reliable business partners.
Zelensky is toast, Ukraine will be handed over to Russia (parts of it will be), and the US DS will focus even more on China.
Oh, and Iran is reaching endgame too, Saudi proxies will provide cover for a US Iran deal.
Musk has done Modi a favour by his frustrated statements - public support is strengthening Modi's hand. He now has a window to take clear action and hope he makes best use of this.
It also plays out well in the long term - India has to claim it's place in the world order, no one is handing it on a platter.
@aravind@smitaprakash Hahaha! I remember that too. Although I wish we could meet up, I'm incognito due to my name being so unique that I can't disclose.
If you are in the UK sometime, do let me know, it will be an honour and pleasure to host you.
I think we noted this once before, I don't know what Salma was trying to do here - while the great Kishore da was singing straight notes, she went for all types of murki's and an alaap that was muted down by sound engineers. Perhaps she was overawed by the occasion, let's leave it at that.
If only India was as corrupt as the US and as open to corporate interference.
@elonmusk is feeling so out of place not being able to have his way as he did with Trump.
This tantrum only tells you one simple fact: he is desperate, and so is the US, somehow trying to bully India.
Well, you may be an Eagle, but you've picked up a Tiger as an adversary. You stand no chance.
The Indian public will overwhelmingly back the PM @narendramodi and you will not have your insurrection.
Dear Prime Minister Ambani,
Please accept my humble apologies for not realizing that you are the real boss of India.
Naturally, you would prefer to maintain your monopolistic exploitation of the great people of India, but would you nonetheless consider allowing Starlink to compete?
There are many areas of India, as there are in all countries, with no Internet access, which denies children the opportunity for education and for small businesses the opportunity to sell their goods to a global market. Starlink would change their lives for the better.
Thank you 🙏
Capt Smit Machhar speaks to PM Modi on video call.
Says: I unlocked the cockpit door, then the passengers came in and took over.
While fighting for my life, I was conscious that if I don’t show courage at this point, 170 lives will be lost.
Only thing on my mind was, I’m injured but I can’t let the passengers die.
All through, I kept reciting the Hanuman Chalisa at that time, that gave me courage.
I apologise for crying in front of you, but I’m so proud that I am speaking to the Prime Minister.
Honestly so glad I didn't jump on the bandwagon and slate BAPS a few weeks ago.
Remember all that massive Internet outrage about them supposedly demanding female workers to be removed from the Eiffel Tower? The whole timeline went into full cancel mode, but the official investigation just wrapped up and it turns out the narrative was completely backwards.
BAPS never asked for women to be kicked out. They literally just told management about their monks spiritual vows ahead of time so they could book a quiet morning slot. The Eiffel Tower executives completely overreacted, botched the communication, and swapped the staff out themselves. The official probe blamed "collective dysfunction" on the tower's end, and their CEO has literally just resigned over the whole mess.
Just a massive reminder of why it pays to wait for the actual facts instead of rushing to join the social media mob. Always worth double checking before buying into collective anger. Honestly, they deserve a massive apology from everyone who criticised them on social media over this.
My salute to the Indian pilot Captain Smit Machchhar for his extraordinary bravery.
Despite being stabbed and seriously injured, he fought back, resisted, opened the cockpit door, and enabled passengers and crew to overpower the attacker — preventing a catastrophic mid-air disaster.
He saved the lives of 174 people, including Israeli citizens and other nationals.
I wish Captain Machchhar a speedy and full recovery.
He is a true hero.
