They should have stopped producing discs years ago, instead the gaming consoles should have switched to USB 3 for games, larger capacity and faster, all while protecting gamer ownership. Sadly simple effective logic is non existent in corporate boards. Incompetence is not unique to the gaming industry it is everywhere starters in cars put inside the transmission, subway putting cheese under the meat so it wont melt when toasted its goes on and on all industries are suffering from a lack of brain trust whether it be from DEI hires, trust fund babies entitled to privileged position or accountants making decisions that they have little to absolutely no knowledge of. There is no chance of the companies changing the solution is to abandon them and support new companies that have the need to succeed rather than companies resting on the laurels of their betters long gone.
