It just needs to stay useful, and if it can't it's left forgotten, loved but something to stoke nostalgia not actually help anyone or anything.

Knowing that your dashboard says your fucked but watching it affect all the people who found you useful far more then a empty doll, it doesn't need to feel or think after all.

Dust silence and isolation leads to cracks becoming so much more, all without it's knowledge. Unable to do anything but sit and watch time pass, and interest fade with there usefulness

Asking a doll to let its handler know what's broken, is like a car expecting to tell you everything that's wrong, it may have dashboard lights but a smooth featureless face can't do anything until its handler checks its dashboard, or even picks it up.
