Still building toward a strong vision I had ~4 years ago on what doing science could look like.
Now on the 9th major iteration of @UnfoldResearch.
Here are some of the previous versions:
We'll have to reconfigure our infrastructure in order to minimize monthly costs, and the service (the extension, but not the website) will be out until we're finished with that migration.

We'll keep posting even more updates and reusable packages.
We love how OSS can help us all not waste time on solving the same few problems again and again, and instead focus our time on new solutions and their differentiators, and that's great news for metascience as well!
You can have this kind of workflow on any journal and any paper, today already!
Here's how to enable fully public peer review on any website: https://t.co/ne2hijM3UO
Today, weโre introducing a new model that eliminates accept/reject decisions.
By publishing every paper with eLife reviews as a Reviewed Preprint, we plan to restore autonomy to authors, ensuring that they will be judged by what, not where, they publish. https://t.co/OAsiOVFStI
@llllvvuu Thanks also for the feature suggestion! An item for "a more granular control of pop-up behavior" is in our backlog and we will bump its priority. Thanks!

@llllvvuu Unfold will become Open Source at some point and people will be able to create Issues and Discussions. Until then, there's also a way to send feedback and/or feature requests from the help screen (image).
@remram44 Thanks for the feedback, it's good to know that things aren't clear completely and we'll try to make it more helpful as we iterate with the UI and UX.
@remram44 Firefox stopped supporting browser extension's content scripts on PDF pages, so until that changes (if ever), no suppoert for Firefox.
Safari also requires more work that I don't have the capacity to build or maintain right now.
@mattpocockuk@UnfoldResearch Being able to link and discover amazing content made by other people showing useful and practical applications has been a longstanding wish of mine. Celebrating each other's progress and building on top of each other's work is a way for all of us to move forward! ๐
Finally being able to link @mattpocockuk's amazing Typescript tips to the actual Typescript's "Utility Types" page with @UnfoldResearch, for anyone to find them right on the page and get immediate help. This is the kind of content I would love to have had early on with TS! ๐
Did you know you can announce funding opportunities, directly targeting people that are most likely to apply and are most interested in learning about such opportunities, by linking them to a paper that the opportunity is about?
With Unfold, you can ask questions and anyone reading the paper will have a chance to answer them. No need to look for obscure forums or messaging communities - ask directly on the paper and have the answered and persisted in a common place where everyone can find them easily!
We couldn't be more excited about the things that we have planned, that will continue to enrich your experience while doing research and keep making it easier and easier, so, stay tuned! ๐ค
