We’ve installed eTemperature loggers at our @SAGrainTrust + @theGRDC frost trial site to track canopy temp every 6 mins. With 3 in each zone, they help us detect frost events that weather stations can miss, giving us better insight into what’s happening in the crop.
Thanks to Stefan for sowing the TOS 2 of UNFS’s @SAGrainTrust funded, @theGRDC co-funded frost trial. This trial has a green zone and a red zone to compare frost impact.
Big thank you to Pete Kitsche for the use of his paddock, trials aren't possible without farmer support.
Thanks to Wayne Pluske from Equii for his insights on fertiliser profitability, engaging, informative, and witty. Also thank you to Stefan Schmitt who led the group on a barley in saline soils crop walk. Big thanks to Nurom farmers Leighton, Byron & Phillip Johns!
Next Friday: Join us at 12 pm sharp (with lunch provided) on 27 June at Nurom, to hear from independent fertiliser and soils consultant Wayne Pluske.
Later in the day, hear from local advisor Stefan Schmitt about barely establishment trials on saline soils.
