Valve has released SteamOS 3.8.10, allowing users to build their own Steam Machine using standard PC parts.
Instead of buying Valve steam machine, gamers can install SteamOS on a compatible desktop and get a console-like experience similar to the Steam Deck.
The update adds better support for newer AMD and Intel hardware, while Valve says it is working with Nvidia to improve graphics card compatibility.
SteamOS is currently best suited for fresh installations, with dual-boot support alongside Windows still in development.
Valve hopes this will make it easier for players to turn ordinary PCs into living room gaming systems and create their own Steam Machines without being tied to a specific device.
