Yesterday, a 4 day strike by Environment Agency @unisontheunion workers was narrowly avoided, after an approved pay flexibility case was brought forward by the Agency.

In part, this is testament to our growing strength: When has No.10 ever approved a pay matter so quickly?

Yesterday, Branch Stewards Dan and Jim had a fantastic afternoon speaking to new starters for the Environment Agency at the Welcome to Yorkshire Day in Leeds.

As the dreadful scenes in Gaza continue our branch has agreed to make a donation to Medical Aid for Palestinians and the Red Cross. This follows the £10,000 donated by the national union to support the critical work of both MAP and the Red Cross.

#udmc23 Jon Richard, Asst General Secretary of UNISON, spoke to conference and the EA was singled out for the strength of feeling on pay across EA members. He praised the EA for suspending ASOS to respond to Storm Babet, as this had helped maintain public support for the EA.
