One of the most meaningful moments of our Centennial Celebration was honoring our dear friends Rich and Mary Templeton with @UnitedWayDallas' highest honor for volunteer service, the J. Erik Jonsson Award.

As longtime investors in our mission to create access and opportunity for all North Texans to thrive, Rich and Mary have been instrumental in the success of our strategic work to foster generational change in our community, and we are forever grateful for their generosity.

We thank @TXInstruments and its current and former executives, including president and CEO Haviv Ilan and retired chief financial officer Kevin March, for also honoring Rich and Mary’s legacy of service with a $25 million gift to UWMD. This historic investment will pave the way for a bright future as we enter our next century of impact.

The J. Erik Jonsson Award is @UnitedWayDallas' highest honor for volunteer service, bestowed annually in recognition of change-makers who embody the spirit of civic leadership and community impact the late J. Erik Jonsson himself championed.

Taste United brought together Dallas' culinary and business communities to spotlight our shared commitment to addressing food insecurity in North Texas.

As we approach the Thanksgiving season, a time rooted in gratitude and coming together, we cannot ignore the growing issue of food insecurity facing families across Texas. This year, as we gather around our tables to celebrate abundance, let us consider those who may not have enough to eat.

Addressing hunger is a critical component for strong communities.

Still floating! 💫 At our Centennial Celebration and Concert presented by @PepsiCo, THE Queen herself—global icon, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductee, and philanthropist @JanetJackson—stopped mid-performance to recognize @UnitedWayDallas and our transformational partnership with @PepsiCo and CEO Steven Williams.

She talked about the real impact we’re making together in Southern Dallas. Expanded access to education. Jobs. Vital resources. PROGRESS.

“This is what real community partnerships can do,” she said.

And she’s right!
