If we follow history carefully, it doesn’t really make sense to claim that Jews today are not the real ones. The Bible itself already anticipated long periods of exile and dispersion, you just have to read, understand, follow context, exile stories, and post-exile stories.
In Book of Jeremiah, the prophet Jeremiah wrote to the Israelites who had been taken into exile in Babylon by the Neo-Babylonian Empire. Instead of telling them to wait idly to return home, he told them to build lives where they were:
“Build houses and settle down; plant gardens and eat what they produce. Marry and have sons and daughters… increase in number there; do not decrease." Jeremiah 29:5–6, it is from this chapter your pastor also quote the popular scripture "for I know the thought............"
That instruction shows the exile was expected to last generations and when Cyrus the Great of the Achaemenid Empire later allowed the Jews to return to Jerusalem, many had already built families, businesses, and communities in other lands, so not everyone returned.
Later wars under the Roman Empire, especially after the Bar Kokhba Revolt, scattered Jewish populations even further across Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East.
Over centuries these diaspora communities developed in different regions, which is why groups such as Ashkenazi Jews, Sephardic Jews, and Mizrahi Jews exist today.
So historically speaking, the diversity among Jews today is exactly what you would expect from a people who lived in diaspora for over two thousand years. When the modern state of Israel was established in 1948, Jews migrated there from many different countries, bringing those histories with them.
In other words, the mixture of cultures and national backgrounds among Jews today is not evidence that they are not real. It is actually the natural result of centuries of exile, migration, and survival across many nations.
I expect you as an elite to know these.
