The Killing of a Young Man Who Raised His Voice Against Drugs Raises Serious Questions About Punjab’s Governance!
The death of S. Parvinder Singh Jhota is deeply tragic and disturbing. The loss of a young man who was raising his voice against the menace of drugs is a matter of grave concern for the entire state of Punjab.
When those who stand up against drugs are not safe, it is only natural to question the government’s claims of waging a war against drugs.
The government’s responsibility is not limited to announcing campaigns against drugs. It must also take decisive action against drug traffickers, protect the lives and safety of ordinary citizens, and ensure security for those who stand up against the drug menace.
If the police were contacted for assistance in this case but failed to respond in time, that too demands a serious and impartial investigation. Along with the accused, any officials found guilty of negligence must also be held accountable.
I demand a fair and impartial investigation into this case, strict punishment for those found guilty in accordance with the law, and concrete measures to ensure that no other mother’s son has to pay with his life for raising his voice against drugs.
The true tribute to S. Parvinder Singh Jhota would be to ensure that those who speak out against drugs in Punjab receive protection and justice, and that the drug trade is eliminated at its roots.
May Waheguru grant the departed soul a place at His feet and give strength to the bereaved family to bear this immense loss.

The Sikh Press Association is devastated to learn of the callous murder of anti-drug activist Parminder Singh Jhota today in Mansa (Punjab).
Sikh PA first covered Jhota in 2023, as a victim of torture for exposing Punjab's police-narco network.
Our prayers are with his family.
It’s called “tasting your own medicine.” For years, Indian state-sponsored bots have been spreading hate against Sikhs online, and now they’re getting exactly the same hate back from the world.

Selma, California, has officially proclaimed recognition of the 1984 Sikh Genocide.
This November, Sikhs worldwide should be pushing their own cities to recognize the Sikh Genocide — not going to @diljitdosanjh shows and turning the days of our genocide into a celebration.
On November 2 at Tughlakabad, for example, the RPF explained the stoppage of two trains as being due to ‘defective signals’. A mob of 1000 people, ready for the stoppage, boarded the train and killed at least 9 Sikhs. The Special Occurrence Report led by the RPF,
FIRs lodged at the Delhi City Police Station named 49 BJP and RSS leaders, including Ram Kumar Jain; president of the Jain Mahasabha Ashram and a poll agent for Vajpayee, for charges of murder, arson, and rioting in the genocide. None of the people named have ever faced justice.
