A brutal attack has been carried out on Joynab Binte Hossain Shantu, Assistant Professor of the Bangla Department at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University, by cadres of Islami Chhatra Shibir, the student wing of Jamaat.
Targeting a university teacher for her views and dissent is an assault on free thought and academic freedom. She is currently receiving medical treatment in hospital.
Those responsible must be arrested immediately and given exemplary punishment.
There is no place for campus terrorism in a civilised society.
