That’s the point. I’m not “going back hundreds of years” to avoid what’s happening now. I’m saying what’s happening now did not appear out of thin air.
Slavery…never ended.
Slavery didn’t simply end and then America hit a magical reset button. It evolved into Black Codes, convict leasing, Jim Crow, redlining, segregated schools, housing discrimination, over-policing, mass incarceration, and generational poverty.
The chains changed form. That’s all.
So when people throw around crime stats with no history, no economics, no policy, and no context, they’re not “talking about today.” They’re pretending today has no parents.
You can’t diagnose the present while refusing to look at what created it.
Bringing up Jon Voight to imply Angelina Jolie is the unstable one is wild to me. That man has spent decades being part of her pain and then publicly trashing her. He is not evidence against her. He is context for why she might understand toxic men better than most.
Also “somewhere in the middle” does not work when one person is accused in filings of terrorizing his wife and children. That’s not a marital gray area. That’s fcking abuse.
Throwing Voight into the mix should make it all crystal clear. It shows the pattern perfectly…a woman survives difficult men, speaks up, sets boundaries, and people still find a way to call her the problem.
Same old story. We should be sick to death of it by now.
@erikaxtc@madchiven Maybe they are staying at a different place now while the house gets packed up? Maybe? Just guessing? Because we are seeing them so much more and this is not the normal spot.
Zahara seen over the weekend. ❤️
She is such a beautiful young woman, but what always stands out to me most is the warmth she seems to carry. There’s a kindness and confidence about her that shines through every photo.
Honestly, I admire all of Angelina’s children. They grew up under extraordinary scrutiny…through challenges most of us can’t imagine, yet they seem to have become thoughtful, compassionate, and grounded young adults.
Whatever people think about Angelina Jolie, the character of her children speaks volumes. They thrive under her love and guidance, and I think that’s a testament not only to her as a mother, but to them as individuals.
Wishing Zahara nothing but happiness and success. ✨
Brad Pitt found it funny to recount how Zahara had almost choked to death on a piece of ice, probably from one of his whiskeys, while she was in his care and he was hungover.
How difficult it was to take care of a baby when you're drunk, right?

@PDodi_@growing_daniel I don’t have time to cite the entire history for you, but you can start here.
This is Angelina Jolie’s April 2024 Motion to Compel in the Miraval lawsuit.

The FBI report has been referenced in court filing as well.
Oh this is rich. You’re going for the classic abuser defense BS play. “Hey everybody…stop looking at what he did and start putting her life choices on trial. She’s a baaaaaad woman.” 🙄
“Why did she stay?” “Why did she marry him?” “Why have kids?” That not as brilliant as you think it is, babe. That’s victim blaming 101. Abuse can escalate over years, and victims often manage, excuse, deescalate, and protect long before they leave.
Her staying does not absolve him. Her having children with him does not absolve him. Her trying to keep a family together does not absolve him.
How about you stop asking why she didn’t escape sooner and start asking why he gave his family something to escape from. 😘
Look at the way he's holding her arm. And this is in public. Can you imagine what her did in private?
Christina Applegate wrote how he almost got into a fight back when they dated in 1989
He's known to have anger issues & a volatile nature since the 90s. His PR just hides it well
The FBI found probable cause. The fact that prosecutors chose not to charge him doesn’t magically mean the incident was imaginary. It means a powerful man avoided charges, which is not exactly rare.
And the children’s choices matter. They are old enough to have memories, boundaries and agency. If every child is distancing themselves in some way, maybe people should stop blaming Angelina and start asking what he did that made distance feel safer than relationship.
@gaddis_ingrid
I believe the abuse of Angelina began long before the plane incident. Read this. It’s from Angelina Jolie’s April 2024 Motion to Compel in the Miraval lawsuit.
I think the public knows only a very small portion of what happened inside that family. And when you consider the possibility that they were living with fear for years, it becomes much easier to understand why all of the children are distancing themselves in different ways.
If this case ever makes it to trial, maybe the world will finally see more of what was hidden.
Whether people choose to believe it is another story. We’ve seen how this plays out for women before.
