Lisandro Martinez’s view that the #mufc board has sold Michael Carrick short is one shared by several senior players.
Told multiple players believe Martinez spoke out to protect Carrick from the heat.

Press Conferences were where @FootbManager went wrong & continued to do so. A press conference is done on the toilet or before falling to sleep. We don’t need it in the game. People like me don’t need a lot.
What INEOS are getting their PR journalists to say about Martinez now is nasty and calculated.
- “He wanted to leave in the summer.” Funny how that story appears NOW for the first time.
- “He’s upset his teammates and divided the dressing room.” His comments were aimed at the owners, not the players... anyone with a brain can see that.
United fans, don’t fall for it. We’re now being told the dressing room is angry with Licha and he’s wanted out for a year. Where were these stories when he was supposedly pushing for Atletico? If this was true it would've been reported in summer.
Lisandro said what most his teammates were thinking btw.
This looks like an attempt to turn fans against Martinez. Make HIM the villain, shift attention away from the owners and so they can avoid answering what he actually said.
He calls out the owners, and suddenly HE’S the villain now in the media. Seen this before and not falling for these reports.
🤷♂️ "I think Lisandro Martinez was RIGHT. Maybe there is some good in keeping it indoors, but ultimately, they probably HAVE been keeping it indoors."
"It's clear to me that, when Carrick gets sacked, Jason Wilcox, Omar Berrada, all these people above him - they need to be on the chopping block" ❌
McKola gives his thoughts on Lisandro Martinez's post-match outburst after the defeat to Atletico last night 🗣️

Israel has zero right under international law to prevent Lebanese journalists from reporting in Lebanese territory, and Beirut should take this to the UN immediately.
Gary Neville, unsurprisingly, is missing the point on Lisandro Martinez. He's not attacking his teammates, but merely protecting them from a hierarchy that caused a 19-year-old CB to play left-back in a Champions League game.
For @AttackingFooty. #MUFC

It's not a direct criticism of his team mates it's realism and possibly a defence of some of the younger players that have been shoved out of position at full back and the manager.
He said how well they performed last season and that they needed help and additions to the squad.
He’s correct, it is antisemitic, indefensible, and has no place in government. But neither does the Green Party position on nuclear weapons or NATO. No deals with parties actively working to undermine British national security.
@Madz_Grant The thing that bugged me is that when Musk brought it up, it was already well known, there'd been an enquiry, though admittedly not a full public one, and an ITV drama yet lots of disingenuous sorts played it like it was the first time they were hearing about it.
Martinez is not the only Man Utd player fuming with INEOS. Bruno feels he's been lied to (not signed that contract), Shaw and Maguire didn't feel they were able to be regular starters and asked for more and Carrick was furious for not getting a LB and CB. Martinez is speaking for most the players at the club.
These players were calling for more in Aug before the window shut because they knew we had an opportunity to close the gap, and watched our ownership lie, make excuses and rubbish PR stories and not do anything to help out. The manager and squad feel betrayed and that mood has leaked into the dressing room and likely impacted the mood and performances this season.
Wilcox needs to go, Glazers need to sell. Martinez is not the only player furious with the higher ups.
Far-right activity on X significantly declined after Ukraine hit a Russian data centre last week, silencing thousands of online bots and leaving poor old human racists to pick up the slack
Zelenskyy: "When our strikes reached Yandex data centers, it suddenly became little easier to breathe on many social media platforms. Many people noticed it.
There was less hate, less division, fewer provocations because there were fewer bots. It's pretty clear where those bots were coming from.
If they disappeared when Yandex went offline, this proves once again that Europe is not the source of the problems."
The big problem is that Russia figured out how modern society consumes information a decade ago, but the West hasn't.
There are millions of bots commenting and posting Russian propaganda. There are paid influencers spreading it, with Russian bots supporting their content.
There is a gigantic machine operating to radicalize and influence Western societies, and there is not enough defense in place.
It doesn't just influence elections, it sows discord, engulfs societies in culture wars, radicalizes teenagers, and shapes political decisions when elected officials fail to read the room.
That needs to change. And fast.
Crazy how few people i've had to block today even after a public spat with Jacobin's Serbian Stalinist, Ukraine bombing Yandex data centres has really had a noticable impact on social media.
