The technology changed. Decentralised networks are now more efficient. The old structures aren’t being overthrown, they’re being outcompeted.

What looks like chaos is a transition. One system reorganising itself.

Maybe even waking up.

The answer depends on who owns the intelligence layer.

Unownable infrastructure — genuine abundance for everyone.

Concentrated infrastructure — artificial scarcity reconstructed to preserve hierarchy, more sophisticated than anything before it.

The thought experiment is being decided right now.

Not by policy. By architecture.

The economic logic breaks first. But beneath that — the identity logic.

Modernity built human worth around productive labour. Remove its necessity and the architecture of meaning collapses with it.

What replaces it depends entirely on whether the intelligence layer is distributed or concentrated.

One produces abundance. The other produces the most sophisticated dependent class in history

The old coherence structure — exclusive, narrative-based, gatekept — is losing its ability to maintain the gap between story and reality.

The new coherence is mathematical and open. It doesn’t require the gap.

That’s what ends the delusion. Not opposition. Architectural replacement by a system that operates in truth.

Every era has its institutional delusion — the story concentrated power tells about itself to justify its continuation.

What ends it is never opposition.

It’s the gap between the story and reality becoming too wide to maintain.
We’re at that point.

Entropy establishes the direction.

Natural selection is the mechanism.

Centralised systems are low entropy states — improbable concentrations of power maintained by continuous energy expenditure against the natural tendency toward distribution.

Every distortion sustained. Every manufactured consensus maintained. Every captured institution defended.

All of it costs energy.

Entropy is patient.

The decentralised system doesn't defeat centralisation through force or argument.

It waits for the energy cost of resisting entropy to exceed the system's capacity to bear it.

Intelligence flows from the law of entropy.

So does the architecture of what comes next.

The same transition at every layer simultaneously.

Distributed renewable generation is doing to centralised energy what Bitcoin is doing to centralised money.

Eliminating the capital concentration requirement that justified institutional control.

Scarcity required centralised control.
Abundance requires decentralised distribution.

The stack is assembling.

It wins because it's cheaper to run.

Those are not the same event.

Bitcoin is the ideal candidate.
