Why don’t you simply admit it was wrong and leave it at that. Telling your constituents you were discussing the housing crisis is ridiculous. You need better PR advice.
The Mayor and Council said I have to apologize for the not uncommon occurrence of attending part of a Council Meeting remotely while at an Industry Event that ran late, so here it is⬇️
We knew it too, hence filing the complaint. The Elections Act isn’t that difficult to understand when it comes to campaign contributions…for most people. I feel bad for all of the local businesses who were duped into thinking they were donating to a community event.
This wasn't a campaign event? I had 0% doubt when I saw it advertised and clearly Elections Alberta thought so too.
It concerns me what other devoid-of-common-sense/"it's obvious to everyone but me" decisions may be being made if this is the average #yyccc wherewithal.
Thank you to @RobEastonCBC for joining me on a walk in Ward 5 to discuss the disproportionate lack of tree canopy in our communities. We need to get serious about addressing this inequity and overcoming the challenges of greening our city. #yyc#yyccc

@kourtpenner Standing up and speaking out against ignorance and racism is leadership, and we need more of this from our leaders at all levels of government.
This disgusted me enough to bring me out of my twitter hiatus. This is who is representing Ward 13 and our city? Knowing how hard so many of us are working towards reconciliation, this kind of behaviour is unacceptable. Full stop.
@lshutiak @gccarra @BBeanRC Also, the only guarantee now is the ski jump will continue to waste away and there will be no money supply injection into our economy. Turning down provincial & federal money to invest in our infrastructure, in my opinion, was a mistake. We proved we could do it in 88…
@lshutiak @gccarra @BBeanRC I appreciate your concerns, but I remember ‘88 and the sense of community and belonging, regardless of who you were or from where you came, was amazing. We need to invest in things that bring us together, not break us apart.
@BBeanRC @gccarra I’m stunned that you’re stunned. calgary used to be a city of “yes we can”. Now we are looking for ways to say no. People criticized the 88 bid and look what happened. We need to think bigger and bring back the pride that made our city great.
If psychopaths didn’t show up at peoples’ homes, this wouldn’t be necessary. As a tax payer, I support the safety of our elected officials and support this 100%.
Just came home to the best apple pie I’ve ever had, and all thanks to @dinnerwithjulie for teaching my daughter how to make it. Julie, you define what community spirit is all about. Thank you!
