Anne Hathaway was some teenage girl they picked to star opposite Julie Andrews in a teen flick and she turned out to be one of the greatest actresses of her generation like that’s my GOAT fr
Anne Hathaway is absolutely mesmerizing in The Odyssey, especially during this scene.
Powerful, commanding, and completely fearless. She owns every second she’s on screen and demands your attention with a performance that’s impossible to look away from.
I was genuinely in awe.
Anne Hathaway in #TheOdyssey. A fiery and complex performance, built upon grief, abandonment, anger, and dwindling hope underscored by a tremendous and formidable love. Everytime she is on screen, we feel it all boil inside while these men take over her home and try to dictate what she should and shouldn’t be doing. I loved everything she did here.
Here is our brief review of Anne Hathaway's performance in "The Odyssey," which we watched yesterday during the premiere in Brazil:
In the film, Anne delivers a moving and strong performance throughout the entire movie. With a strong performance, Penelope manages to convey the confidence of a queen without losing all the emotional layers that arise at every moment. From Anne's first line in the film, you can immediately tell from her intonation that she was the right choice for the role.
The connection with the character happens in an extremely natural way, causing a feeling of empathy at every moment on screen.
Her acting through small expressions and gestures speaks much louder than any dialogue. Penelope's wisdom dictates many of her actions in a planned way, while at the same time trying to instruct her son in the midst of the chaos in which Ittica finds itself in the absence of a king.
Penelope and Odysseus share one of the most beautiful scenes in the film. Full of depth, the dialogue between them is extremely exciting and both actors sustain the scene in a majestic way.
